BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A firefighter was airlifted to a hospital Wednesday after being injured while battling a wildfire.
KTLA reported that the firefighter was helping with on-ground fire operations in the Water Fire when he was injured by a tumbling rock.
The firefighter was airlifted by a firefighting helicopter to Kern Medical Center in stable condition with moderate injuries.
The Water Fire grew to 35 acres within 30 minutes, according to a fire department tweet.
