BALTIMORE, Md. — A Baltimore firefighter and his partner have been arrested for allegedly running a prostitution ring.

The Baltimore Sun reported that Jamar Simmons, 29, and his partner ran the prostitution ring out of a loft house in Southwest Baltimore.

When police raided the home, court records said that there was a DJ booth, two bedrooms and a kitchen with six lockers labeled with women’s nicknames. In another room was a chalkboard with written reminders to the women like “do not mention sex for money on the phone,” and “always search clients for police wires.”

Simmons allegedly advertised the ring on websites associated with prostitution and took a large cut of the money the women made.

Arrested in 2010 for dropping off a woman for an arranged sexual encounter with an undercover cop, Simmons employment with the fire department has raised concerns about city personnel policies.

The department plans to conduct its own investigation of the matter as Simmons continues to maintain his innocence.
