GLASGOW, Scotland — Police will tonight escort fire crews after a senior officer warned firefighters could be maimed or killed in attacks.
In a bid to deter thugs from attacking firefighters, police in Ayrshire will travel with Strathclyde Fire and Rescue (SFR) crews on their busiest night of the year.
Police will also be on standby in housing schemes in known trouble spots.
