BARSTOW, Calif. — The Barstow firefighters union announced the death of Captain Garret Miller, following an on-duty medical emergency while assigned to Medic Engine 366.
Miller had been with the Barstow Fire Protection District since Sept. 2017 and served with the United States Forest Service in the San Bernardino National Forest and the Fort Irwin Fire Department.
The union post stated Miller was surrounded by his family and loved ones, and asked the community to keep the Miller family in their thoughts and prayers.
Plans are underway for a celebration of Captain Miller’s life, tentatively scheduled for November 13, 2024, at Victor Valley College.
