LODD: Former NJ chief dies after cardiac event

AUDUBON, N.J. — Former chief and volunteer firefighter Paul Price Sr. died following a call Thursday.

Price, 63, responded to the station for a motor vehicle accident Wednesday.. Another crew was sent to the scene of the crash before Price arrived, so he remained behind. When the crew returned to the station, he assisted with getting the apparatus back into service.

After attending a town Emergency Management meeting, Price returned home that night

A family member found him the next morning. He had already passed away. USFA reported that Price likely died from a “cardiac event.”

The over 40-year veteran formerly served as assistant fire chief with the Audubon Fire Department and as a deputy fire chief for the Camden City Fire Department.
