HARALSON COUNTY, Ga. — A Georgia firefighter has died in the line of duty after going into cardiac arrest while working at a crash scene last week.

Haralson County Firefighter Justin Robinson, 50, died Tuesday at the hospital after experiencing a medical emergency at the crash scene on July 14, where he was performing extrication of injured patients, according to the U.S. Fire Administration.

Robinson went into cardiac arrest at the scene and life-saving measures were immediately started. He was then transported to the hospital where he remained in critical condition until his death on July 21.

“His legacy of public service continues, sustaining life for others as an organ donor,” the Haralson County Fire Department said in a Facebook post Tuesday. “Continue to pray for Firefighter Robinson’s family.”
