Update April 7, 2021: Albright Volunteer Fire Department Capt. Charles “Chuck” W. Miller died in a car crash while responding to a brush fire Sunday, department officials said.
Officials said in a statement Tuesday that Miller was en route to the fire station to assist when he possibly experienced a medical emergency that caused him to lose control of his vehicle.
Miller was a past fire chief of the Albright Volunteer Fire Department, according to The Preston County News & Journal. His son and nephew are also firefighters at the department.

PRESTON COUNTY, W.Va. — A West Virginia volunteer fire captain died in the line of duty Sunday while responding to a brush fire, officials announced.
The Albright Volunteer Fire Department said in a statement on Sunday that Capt. Charles W. Miller died while responding to the station to battle the fire. Further details about the circumstances of Miller’s death were not released.
Miller served as a firefighter for 29 years, officials said.
“Please keep the Miller family and the members of Albright Company 1 in your thoughts and prayers as we [mourn] the loss of our dedicated brother,” the fire department’s statement read.
