NEWCASTLE, Wyo. — A fire supervisor died Saturday after suffering a cardiac arrest while participating in a pack test for red card re-certification.
Honor Farm Inmate Fire Supervisor Ted Drake suffered a coronary event while engaged in the annual pack test, multiple sources reported.
Drake’s duties included supervision of an honor camp inmate crew, which the Forestry Division deploys on state and federal fires as needed. Drake was a Forest Division employee.
Drake was transported to a hospital but later died. Funeral arrangements are pending.
