MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. — The U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) announced the on-duty death of Mount Vernon Fire Department Firefighter Lamont Killian, Jr.
On June 22, 2019, Firefighter Killian, Jr. was at the scene of a residential structure fire when he collapsed. He was immediately transported to the hospital where he suffered a heart attack, the USFA posted.
Since that time, he has been unable to return to work. He passed away from heart-related issues on Dec. 11, 2023, USFA reported.
