LAKE MILLS, Wis. — Todd J. Yandre, 61, chief of the Lake Mills Fire Department, died on Feb. 15
Yandre had attended live evolution fire training on that day and the day before, according to the U.S. Fire Administration. He then went to a gym, where he collapsed. He was pronounced dead on scene of an apparent heart attack.
Yandre was in the fire service for 42 years. He worked for Madison College for 18 years as a fire instructor.
“He served with distinction,” City Manager Drake Daily said. “It’s tough to quantify just how lucky we were to have him as a leader.”
Yandre is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren.
