LUGOFF, S.C. — There’s a time and place for everything — even if it’s a marriage proposal near a busy intersection.
Firefighter Preston Davis, 21, proposed to his high school sweetheart Chelsea Rae Smith, 20, Saturday, reported WLTX.
Davis created a banner with the question, “Chelsea Rae, will you marry me?” that was hung from a Lugoff Fire Department’s extended aerial. During the proposal, Davis also played the couple’s favorite song, “I Met a Girl” by William Michael Morgan.
Davis said he wanted to propose with the help of his fellow firefighters. “It’s my life,” he said.
Smith said she was shocked and taken by surprised by the proposal; she said yes.
The two plan to be married within a year.
Congratulations to Lugoff FF Preston Davis and ChelseaRae on their engagement this morning in true Firefighter fashion in Lugoff! ?❤️️????? pic.twitter.com/IrcfSGt5uZ
