OKLAHOMA CITY — A man and a child survived a frightening collision and rescue thanks to the skilled work of the Oklahoma City Fire Department. The accident occurred on Sunday morning and involved a semi-truck on I-44 near Pennsylvania Avenue.
Upon reaching the accident site, firefighters discovered that the semi's cab was hanging off the bridge. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the driver of the semi-truck claimed that another vehicle cut him off, resulting in his swerving, KFOR reported.
The driver and a child who were inside the cab escaped unharmed.
One person under the overpass sustained an injury when falling debris struck them on the head.
Officials will assess the bridge to determine if it suffered any significant damage.
