Calling all fire photographers: FireRescue1 wants to see your pictures! The next time you come across something inspiring, take out the camera and submit it to FireRescue1! Just remember to include your name, agency information and brief background information on the picture.

This week’s photo of the week shows Miami-Dade Fire Rescue’s urban search and rescue (USAR) cache being loaded up for transport to Puerto Rico, where the USAR team – FL Task Force 1 – deployed to provide support to those affected by Tropical Storm Dorian, which has since been upgraded to a hurricane, now headed toward Florida.

A group of approximately 45 members from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue’s USAR team was deployed to Puerto Rico to assist in potential search and rescue operations, such as swiftwater rescue, medical support, communications, and damage assessment. Fortunately, the tropical storm ultimately did not cause major damage to the U.S. territory, just heavy showers.
