Part of the Florence Fire Department’s roof came off, and the bay doors were blocked

FLORENCE, Ala. — The Florence Fire Department station was damaged Saturday in the fatal storms that spawned tornados and killed at least two dozen people in Mississippi and Alabama.

A portion of the building’s roof came off, and the front bay doors were blocked, WAFF reported.

“The outpouring was phenomenal,” Lake Norden Chief of Police Tony Aas said, describing offers for substitute vehicles
