ANAHEIM, Calif. — A fire department warned the public against parking in front of a hydrant by posting photos of a fire hose going through the broken windows of a vehicle.
According to a Twitter post from Anaheim Fire & Rescue, firefighters were forced to break the windows of a car that was parked in front of a hydrant in order to run the hose line through it when they arrived at the scene of a blaze.

“Ever wonder what happens when a car is parked in front of a fire hydrant and a fire breaks out?” the tweet read. “Is a closer parking spot worth the broken windows and the citation and towing fees to @AnaheimPD?”
The Anaheim Police Department retweeted the post and added another warning.
“APD assisted our partners from @AnaheimFire on a working residential structure fire this morning,” the tweet read. ”They had to run a hose line through a car’s windows because it was parked in front of the hydrant. There is a reason the curbs are RED people.”
