VARYSBURG, N.Y. — Firefighters responded to a three-alarm fire at approximately 3:00 a.m. at Boxler Dairy Farms in Varysburg on Dec. 2.
Part of the barn complex was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. “It was through the roof,” said Wyoming County Fire Coordinator Bill Streicher. Fire crews from eight departments responded, with others on standby, The Daily News reported.
FireRescue1 reader Greg Midkiff said the fire involved the milking parlor for milking 2,400 cows. The farm was able to resume milking around 7:00 p.m. the same day with emergency repairs made.
