Firefighters help rescue ‘very scared horse’ near highway

Officials said they teamed up to keep the horse calm so it wouldn’t run onto the busy highway

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — Firefighters teamed up with police officers and bystanders to corral a horse that was loose near a high-speed toll road.

FOX31 reported that South Metro Fire Rescue firefighters and police officers from Douglas County Sheriff’s Office managed to get the horse of out harm’s way with the assistance of some “very helpful” residents, according to South Metro Fire.

Firefighters and police officers kept the horse calm so it wouldn’t run out onto the busy highway and managed to secure it to a fence with rope.
