LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Firefighters and paramedics transported an injured poodle after it was found in the median during a vehicle crash response call.
9News reported that when firefighters arrived on scene, the person involved in the crash had fled. However, bystanders pointed out an injured dog in the roadway’s median.
The dog is recovering from a broken pelvis at an animal shelter. The shelter says an owner has not come forward to claim the dog yet, according to the report.
Fire officials told 9News reporters that they could not say if the dog was injured in the crash or if it was struck by the truck involved in the crash on the roadway.
