3-alarm Md. apartment fire displaces 36

Dozens of fire trucks responded to the blaze; despite a roof collapse, no one was injured

MARLOW HEIGHTS, Md. — Firefighters from five agencies knocked down a three-alarm fire at a Maryland apartment building that displaced 36 people.

Fox5DC.com reported dozens of fire trucks responded to the blaze Wednesday. Firefighters were on scene five minutes after dispatch.

Everyone in the building was able to escape safely, despite the roof collapsing.

We believe there were people jumping from balconies, but we have not found any injuries,” said Prince George’s County Fire and EMS Chief Marc Bashoor. “We have met with building management. They have identified all of the occupants.”

The Red Cross is assisting the 29 adults and seven children that were displaced by the fire.
