SAMBURG, Tenn. — Two volunteer firefighters were injured when their fire truck overturned while responding to a field fire in Obion County.
The Samburg Volunteer Fire Department was responding to a mutual aid request from the Union City Fire Department when the apparatus overturned on Walker Tanner Road, WBBJ reported. Both firefighters are recovering from their injuries.

“Their conditions are good,” Chief Mike Hogg said. “The driver sustained a laceration on his ear and was taken to the hospital and sewn up and the second firefighter, was flown to Memphis, regional one center, and they ran tests and did not find any broken bones or anything and was actually released from the hospital.”
Fire Chief Hogg said the driver was unfamiliar with the road and lost control while navigating a curve, causing the fire truck to overturn.
Other Obion County fire departments are available to assist while the two firefighters recover, Hogg said.
