RED BLUFF, Calif. — Three Cal Fire firefighters were injured Sunday after their truck fell 25 feet after a bridge collapsed.
The crew was responding to a crash on the bridge, where a driver made an unsafe turning movement and collided with the bridge railing. The vehicle veered off the bridge, where it struck a metal support pillar. It caused major structural damage to the bridge.
The damaged inflicted by the crash lead to the fire truck rolling off the bridge, reported Action Now News.
The firefighters were transported to a hospital and released.
Officials said the driver of the vehicle was fully ejected from the vehicle, and a passenger who sustained major injuries was transported via air ambulance to a hospital.
