Kearney’s Good Samaritan Hospital will hand over the keys to one of its ambulances to the Kearney Volunteer Fire Department Thursday evening.
The plan is for the fire department to use the ambulance as a rehabilitation unit for taking care of fire fighters when they are working on an active fire or doing training exercises. This will give fire fighters the advantage of having an air conditioned space to sit down.
Good Samaritan is taking the ambulance out of service because of its age, but it is in good working condition and has a value of approximately $3,000.
