TYLER, Texas — A firefighter who was injured after falling off a fire truck en route to a call is expected to return home this week.
Scott Hilsabeck was transported to the intensive care unit Sunday during a fire call, reported KLTV. Officials said Hilsabeck was moving on the steps of the engine and working with a team on the deck gun when he fell.
Tyler Fire Capt. Marty Lawrence said Hilsabeck was moved to a regular room at the hospital and is expected to return home Wednesday.
The fire displaced eight people; there were no other injuries.
