CENTURY, Fla. — A man was arrested Tuesday after stealing a volunteer firefighter’s personal vehicle while he was responding to a crash scene.

Kilo Lowe, 19, has been charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, criminal mischief and driving without a valid license, reported North Escambia.

The firefighter said the pickup truck was missing after he pulled over to help crash victims. He said he saw the truck leaving the scene; deputies pulled Lowe over and arrested him.

Lowe told police he is schizophrenic, but is medicated. He is currently in jail and his bond has been set at $10,500.

The firefighter’s truck sustained a 12-inch long scratch on the tailgate when Lowe stole the vehicle.
