LAKELAND, Ga. — A south Georgia volunteer firefighter has been arrested in connection with four house fires over three months.
Insurance and Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens says that Firefighter Johnny Ray Frisky was arrested Friday morning on four counts of first-degree arson, according to Claims Journal.
Firefighter Frisky is accused of setting fire to three unoccupied homes between July and September and authorities say he may have set one of the homes on fire twice.
Investigators believe he set the fires in an effort to “gain favor within the community.”
Frisky is currently being held in jail. It is unclear if he has an attorney.
