Photo of the Week: Masks that do more

Calling all fire photographers: FireRescue1 wants to see your pictures! The next time you come across something inspiring, take out the camera and submit it to FireRescue1! Just remember to include your name, agency information and brief background information on the picture.

This week's Photo of the Week comes from the Hialeah (Fla.) Fire Department, showing the pink masks members have been wearing throughout the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

In addition to preventing the spread of COVID-19, these eye-catching masks are helping raise awareness about breast cancer and show support for those who have been affected by it. Hialeah firefighters have also been wearing breast cancer awareness T-shirts throughout the month.

As Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, take a look back at the history of breast cancer awareness campaigns in the fire service, and then head to Twitter to check out how other departments across the country have been showing their support.
