PHOENIX — A Phoenix firefighter was injured Saturday afternoon while battling a church fire.
KPHO reported that the fire was initially reported to be burning at a strip mall, but crews then discovered the fire was actually at Catalyst Church.
One firefighter had to be transported to a local burn center after he suffered first- and second-degree burns to his arms and legs while fighting the fire.
The unidentified firefighter was released from the hospital Saturday night and is now recovering at home, according to the report.
Crews were able to quickly bring the flames under control and no civilians were injured.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
