ST. ALBANS, W.Va. – Eight local fire departments responded to a church fire in St. Albans.

Metro 911 dispatchers said eight fire departments including Poca, Nitro, St. Albans, Dunbar, South Charleston and Institute responded to a fire at Grace Baptist Temple on MacCorkle Avenue.

Firefighters on the scene said the fire started in the attic and has been contained. Firefighters said the reason so many fire departments were called out was because fire hydrants were frozen, and they were simply trying to figure out what to do.
