GAYLORD, Mich. — Memorial services were held this week for a volunteer firefighter who died after responding to a call Nov. 27.

Otsego County Fire Department firefighter Thomas Gary Walker, 70, responded to a carbon monoxide alarm. Upon returning home, Walker collapsed. He was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, reported USFA.

Walker, a 34-year fire service veteran, served in the U.S. Air Force, according to Gaylord Community Funeral Home.

He leaves behind his wife, brothers, nieces and nephews.

The cause of his death has yet to be determined.
