PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. — A long-time fire chief died at his home Tuesday night.
Cumberland Head Volunteer Fire Chief Art Brault, 54, died after responding to a call earlier in the day, reported the Press Republican. Brault was found to be unresponsive when a family member checked on him. It is likely that his death will be classified as a line of duty death.
“Today we began mourning Art as a colleague, friend and leader,” Plattsburgh Town Supervisor Michael Cashman said. “His dedication and service to the town will always be remembered.”
Chief Brault served the department for 25 years.
