ALBANY, N.Y. — An off-duty firefighter died unexpectedly while out to dinner with his family Monday evening.
William O’Leary, 52, was transported to the hospital after he fell ill at the restaurant, reported the Times Union. He died of unknown natural causes.
“He was well-liked and a great fireman,” Albany Fire Chief Warren Abriel said.
Chief Abriel said O’Leary, a 16-year veteran, often drove the fire truck and operated the pump.
