BOONE COUNTY, Ky. — A firefighter for the Aurora Fire Department died Saturday afternoon in a car crash.
Jason Richardson was killed around 2 p.m. Saturday following a crash on Woodpoint Drive in Boone County. He was off-duty at the time. His death is a difficult loss for the Aurora Fire Department. Chief Jeff Lane said Richardson will be deeply missed.
“We all loved him, we all loved him,” Lane said. He said going on a run without Richardson was especially difficult. “I told them Jason would want us to get back on the truck and be there for somebody. That’s the way he was.”
