DUNDEE, Ohio— A volunteer firefighter died in a crash while responding to a call Monday.
Times Reporter.com reported that Dundee volunteer firefighter Ruben Mast, 43, was driving in a Ford F-250 truck when he lost control, went left of center, over-corrected and struck a guardrail before the truck overturned. Mast was ejected from the truck.
He was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, but officials said that a preliminary investigation indicated that Mast was not using his seat belt.
