OAKFIELD, N.Y. — A volunteer firefighter was killed in a one-car crash Tuesday night.
WKBW reported that 37-year-old David Beehler Jr. veered off a road, crashing into a tree and utility pole. Police said Beehler was thrown from the pickup truck he was driving. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Beehler was a volunteer firefighter for the Elba (N.Y.) Volunteer Fire Department.
His department was called to assist deputies at the scene.
Beehler was the only person in the truck. It’s unclear what caused the crash.
