NEW YORK — A FDNY captain is facing backlash for his anti-cop lyrics as a rapper.

Kaseem Ryan, 44, a FDNY veteran, is also known by his rapper stage name Ka, reported the NY Daily Post. Ryan has rapped with members of the Wu Tang Clan, but has been trying keep his rap career mum for years.

“I’m living two lives, man. I’m trying to be who I am in the day and then trying to feed my soul at night with being the artists I want to be,” Ryan said in an interview last year.

Since the recent public attention, Ryan has received criticism from fellow firefighter and police officers. In one lyrics, Ryan accuses police of plotting to “dead us” and “rolling with Kojaks.”

“The biases he portrays through his music are indicative of what he believes or feels,” Ed Mullins, president of the Sergeants Benevolent Association, told the NY Post.

“As a New York City firefighter, he should be trying to bring people together rather than fracture relationships, especially in communities of color.”

The Post was unsuccessful in reaching Ryan for comment.
