YONKERS, N.Y — Eleven firefighters were injured battling a house fire Wednesday night.
LoHud.com reported that about 40 firefighters responded to a two-story home around 7 p.m. Flames started in the basement, where there was extensive fire, smoke and water damage. There was moderate damage to the other floors.
Yonkers Deputy Fire Chief Thomas Fitzpatrick said the firefighters were treated for minor injuries. It was unclear how many people lived in the home or how the fire started.
