EL PASO, Texas — A 13-year-old girl faces arson charges after allegedly setting a Northeast house on fire Tuesday, El Paso Fire Department officials said.
The fire started in the home in the 10000 block of Georgetown shortly after 5:50 a.m. The girl and another person got out of the house before firefighters arrived, officials said.
Fire Marshals Office investigators said the girl intentionally set the fire, which caused $8,000 in damage. She was released to the custody of her grandmother. Firefighters would not say whether the girl lived at the house.
