DETROIT — Two firefighters were injured battling a three-alarm fire Sunday morning on Detroit’s east side.
Both firefighters were transported to a hospital for treatment, Detroit Fire Sgt. Grey Jackson said. One suffered smoke inhalation. Information on the second firefighter’s injuries wasn’t immediately available.
Firefighters responded about 8:45 a.m. to Mack and Eastlawn, near Chalmers, to fight the blaze in a vacant commercial building, Jackson said. The fire, which appears suspicious, was still burning at 11:45 a.m.
