2 NJ firefighters hurt in 2-alarmer

Fire captain fell from landing; both firefighters were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries

EAST ORANGE, N.J. — An N.J. fire captain was hurt when he fell from a landing during a two-alarm fire Wednesday.

Captain John Anderson, a 24-year veteran of the East Orange Fire Department, was on the top floor of a 2 1/2-story house, according to WABC.

He fell through one floor and landed on the bottom floor.

Capt. Anderson is expected to recover fully from fractures to his hip, femur and lower left leg, according to the Asbury Park Press.

Another firefighter was injured in the fire, NJ.com said. Five people were also displaced.
