BALTIMORE — A fire early Tuesday morning has been attributed to “discarded smoking materials,” a fire department spokesman said.
When county firefighters arrived at the home in the 7500 block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Glen Burnie at 12:30 a.m., they found a bedroom ablaze, fire department spokesman Lt. Cliff Kooser said.
All of the home’s occupants fled the residence after they were alerted by a smoke detector, Kooser said.
It took 21 firefighters about 21 minutes to bring the blaze under control, Kooser said.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire in the bedroom. The fire caused $1,000 in damages, Kooser said.
