DUPAGE COUNTY, Ill. — A lightning strike injured three firefighters attempting to put out a house fire Wednesday night.
CBS Chicago reported that the first units called to the scene found a fire in the roof, apparently caused by a lightning strike.
While an aerial ladder crew was setting up to go on the roof, a second lightning bolt struck the ground, narrowly missing them, according to the report.
Paramedics transported the three firefighters to a nearby hospital, where they were being held overnight for observation.
