WASHINGTON, D.C. — DC fire officials have now released the names of all four firefighters who were injured in a rowhouse fire Monday afternoon in Northeast Washington.

Fire officials say 37-year-old Sergeant Michael Lacore is the most critically injured, with second- and third-degree burns over 30 percent of his body.

Firefighter Charlie Shayab, who’s 30, is also listed in critical condition. Both are at the Medstar burn unit.

Twenty-seven-year-old firefighter Doug Donnelly is listed in serious condition. Firefighter Kenneth Humpheries, who’s 23, is in serious condition.

The firefighters were trapped on the top floor of a burning rowhouse at 619 Fourth Street Northeast.

Investigators believe the fire was caused by some oily rags being stored next to some propane canisters in the home next door.

They believe the rags ignited the propane, setting off an explosion, and the fire burned from the back porch of the home to the houses on either side.
