7 firefighters injured in 3-alarm NJ blaze

Firefighters suffered heat exhaustion, smoke inhalation, and high blood pressure

HOBOKEN, N.J. — Seven firefighters were injured fighting a three-alarm blaze at a N.J. charter school Thursday morning.

The firefighters sustained non-life threatening injuries including heat exhaustion, smoke inhalation and high blood pressure, according to NJ.com.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in less than three hours.

The fire, which started on the second floor of the school, caused significant damage to the school and forced the evacuation of 200 students from kindergarten to the eighth grade. More than 100 children were also evacuated from another nearby school.

No children or faculty members were hurt in the fire. The cause is still under investigation.
