EDEN MILLS, Ontario — One of the victims of a deadly house fire in the rural community of Eden Mills near Guelph has been identified as a firefighter for the town of Halton Hills. Trevor McNally and his wife Susanne died after a fire broke out in their home on Friday.
It’s been a very difficult weekend for members of the Halton Hills fire department. Flags at Halton Hills’ fire detachments are flying at half mast for 44-year-old Trevor and his 45-year-old wife Sue. “Very quiet and unassuming firefighter. Some are a little more assertive than others and Trevor was one of those guys you could sit down with and have a good quiet conversation,” said Halton Hills Fire Chief Brent Marshall.
Marshall says McNally became a part-time firefighter in 2005. He was hired on full-time in 2007 and has since been a dedicated member of the team.
