TAMPA, Fla. — A Tampa firefighter is recovering from burns after nearly falling through a hole in a roof while battling a house fire.
Tampa Fire Rescue officials said firefighters cut a hole in the roof Sunday morning. One firefighter began falling into the hole and was up to his arms when his captain grabbed hold of him and pulled him out.
The firefighter was taken to the hospital with burns on his hand. His name was not released. No one was home at the time of the fire and no other injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
