OSCEOLA, Mo. — A fire that completely destroyed three buildings just off the square in downtown Osceola was caused by an electrical problem, fire officials told KSPR News Monday.
The fire destroyed multiple buildings and caused smoke damage to others. The buildings that burned were vacant and were once used as a bar, bookstore and upstairs apartments, according to residents.
Sac-Osage Fire Protection District Chief Mike Mullaney told KSPR News that an electrical problem of some sort touched off the blaze. Firefighters responded just after 8:30 p.m. Saturday evening and fought to prevent the fire from spreading.
Six fire departments responded to the scene, including firefighters from Bolivar, Appleton City, Lowry City, Rockville, Stockton and Nevada.
