Firefighters recover two bodies in three-alarm blaze

Rescuers have been looking for a mother and daughter that have not been accounted for since the fire

UXBRIDGE, Mass. — Firefighters have found two bodies in the wreckage of a three-alarm blaze that destroyed a converted farm house Monday night.

Rescuers have been looking for a mother and her six-year-old daughter, but it could not be confirmed if the two bodies were theirs, according to the Boston Herald.

The fire broke out late last night and consumed the apartment building, which has since been knocked down. The investigation is now focusing on identifying the bodies and finding the missing mother and daughter.

A neighbor in the apartment complex said he knew the pair and said he did not see them when he ran outside during the fire.

“I looked around and I didn’t see them, so I ran to the window and tried to open it but it was locked,” he said.

The mother’s car is still parked in the driveway. The two have not been accounted for since Monday morning.

Firefighters from 14 different communities were called to fight the blaze.
