TROY, Mich. — John R. Road has reopened in both directions between 14 Mile and Maple roads after temporarily shutting down Saturday afternoon due to an apartment fire on Lovington Drive.
Troy firefighters went to the Canterbury Square Apartments on the report of an oven fire. Firefighters had to rescue some residents on the second floor. One got out through a second-story window and two others were rescued by firefighters using ground ladders.
Two of the three residents rescued from the building were treated by EMS for smoke inhalation. The fire was put out and firefighters did a sweep of the building to make sure everyone got out safely.
