FAIRFIELD, Calif. — As a grass fire off of I-80 in Fairfield spread to several homes off of Marigold Drive Tuesday afternoon, Darrell Prill sat and watched as firefighters went in to his home to put out the flames that were gushing from his roof.
“It was very scary, but I have home-owner’s insurance,” Prill told FOX40.
Multiple fire departments had a hand in containing the flames including Fairfield, Solano and Vacaville. “I didn’t ask them but firefighters were able to save something important. My military memorabilia. That’s what we wanted,” Prill said.
