LAS VEGAS — Engineers are inspecting the integrity of a scorched roadway after a tanker carrying 9,100 gallons of gasoline overturned on a major Las Vegas thoroughfare and exploded into flames.
The crash happened around 4 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 15 near Lake Mead Boulevard. The truck driver escaped unharmed, but spilled gasoline burned for about two hours.
Southbound lanes were closed and traffic was being diverted around the crash site.
Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating.
